You should seek medical advice before scalp micropigmentation if you have an active scalp infection, open wounds, a history of keloid or abnormal scarring, a bleeding disorder, an immune-related condition, poorly controlled diabetes, cardiovascular disease, or if you are taking anticoagulant medication. Treatment is also generally postponed during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

People with hypertension, diabetes, heart disease or other chronic conditions should first confirm that their condition is stable and seek medical advice before scalp micropigmentation. Healing and infection risk may vary depending on the individual condition and medication used.

• Scalp micropigmentation typically lasts around 3–5 years, although fading varies depending on skin type, metabolism, sun exposure, lifestyle and aftercare. Colour can be refreshed with touch-up sessions when needed.
• NPM uses pigments developed for scalp micropigmentation and treatment depth is controlled to minimise impact on existing hair and scalp tissue.

• Scalp micropigmentation needs to remain visually adaptable as hair colour, skin tone, hairstyle and hair-loss patterns change over time. Pigments that gradually fade are easier to refresh or adjust than permanent body-tattoo pigments.
• NPM scalp pigments have undergone independent laboratory testing for selected safety parameters. Actual safety depends on pigment quality, treatment depth, hygiene and practitioner technique.

• NPM-HFS is performed within the superficial layers of the scalp using controlled depth and pressure. When carried out correctly, the aim is to create a follicle-like visual effect while minimising impact on existing hair and follicles.

Are the claims of some companies that their micropigmentation can regrow hair true or a scam?

• During the NPM -HFS process, you may feel mild discomfort or a tingling sensation, but it is not overly intense. This largely depends on an individual's pain tolerance and the area being treated.
• Comfort measures may be used depending on the treatment area and individual sensitivity. Most clients describe the sensation as mild and tolerable.

• The duration of NPM-HFS depends on the treatment area and individual circumstances, usually taking 1 to 3 hours per session. Smaller areas may require less time, while larger areas may take longer.
• NPM-HFS may be more efficient than single-needle SMP when treating larger areas of thinning hair.
• Treatment time varies depending on the size of the area, scalp condition and required density.

• Temporary redness, mild swelling or sensitivity may occur after scalp micropigmentation and usually settles within a short period. Recovery varies depending on the individual scalp condition, treatment area and skin sensitivity.
• Most clients can resume normal daily activities relatively quickly, although strenuous exercise, excessive sweating, sun exposure and swimming should be avoided during the early aftercare period.

• The scalp needs time to stabilise after treatment. Early exposure to water, shampoo, sweat or friction may affect pigment retention and irritate the treated skin.
• Aftercare timing should follow the instructions given for your scalp condition and treatment area. If you experience persistent redness, swelling, discharge or unusual pain, seek medical advice.
